The Paleolithic dog ''(Canis c.f. familiaris)''〔 was a Late Pleistocene – early Holocene European canid that was smaller in size compared to the Pleistocene wolf ''(Canis c.f. lupus)''〔 and the extant gray wolf (''Canis lupus lupus''). They were directly associated with human hunting camps 30,000 YBP.〔 They are now extinct. ==Naming== "Palaeolithic" is the European spelling however this article uses the US spelling to help maintain consistency with links to related pages.
